Birth Talk

  2nd Tuesday of every month

Birth Talk is a special time and place to share the joys and challenges of pregnancy, birth and being a new mom.

If you are a new mom, pregnant or planning a pregnancy then you need to join us at Birth Talk.

Enjoy light refreshments and talking with local women.

Registration is FREE, but required due to limited seating.

• Woodcarvers is the 2nd Monday of the month at 6 p.m.. All are welcome. This group teaches woodcarving and shares what each other is making. They enjoy having new members or those who just want to come and watch.

• Quilting is the second Thursday of the month at  6 p.m. Quilting is a growing art. Margaret teaches new techniques as well as helps those who have already started a project. Come and join in - we have all the material you need to get started.

• AA/NA meets at the center Wednesdays 7:30-9 p.m. and Sundays 5:30-7 p.m. and 7:30-9.

• Adult Tutors Needed. The McDowell Education Center is looking for new adult volunteers to tutor Adult Learners. Volunteers should have a real interest in helping adults become beter readers and writers. Tutors will need to commit approximately 2 hours per week. The hours are very flexible and training will be provided prior to the tutoring sessions.
