Congratulations to our Garden Manager, Dustin Hawkins, for receiving HACCP certification.

HACCP is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product, namely the “Farm-to-Table-Continuum”.

HACCP is designed for use in all segments of the food industry from growing, harvesting, processing, manufacturing, distributing, and merchandising to preparing food for consumption.

Gardening - Have you always wanted to enjoy fresh produce grown with no pesticides or artificial fertilizer? Now is your opportunity to do so and be a part of a group that shares the fun, the labor and the rewards of growing vegetables and flowers! Some of the produce is sold at the local Farmer's Market to support the expense of the garden and to support Eastside Community Center. Some of the produce is shared with those who participate in the garden or working at the Farmer's Market.We also use produce from the garden in our food pantry. When the vegetables start coming in, we will start canning lessons. There are still openings available for volunteers who wish to be an active participant in the Community Garden. Our Mission

Eastside has always provided family recreational, educational, and cultural activities. Lately, however, we have seen more demand for services and resources from families facing or at risk of crisis.

While some look for Washington to provide financial help, Eastside is committed to helping build our community's economic recovery from the family-level up, with programs like Individual Development Accounts (IDA), financial literacy classes, Home Buyers' Club, and foreclosure intervention.
